Another month of work is behind us, and it’s time to share our results and tell you what PDMSh has been up to throughout October.
On the front lines, our medical teams provided care to 186 patients
- including 184 wounded service members
- and 2 patients with non-combat-related medical conditions.
Meanwhile, behind the front lines, we continue to expand our medical transportation service, which, unfortunately, is becoming increasingly essential. The number of wounded Ukrainian defenders requiring long-term treatment and rehabilitation continues to grow. With it comes a growing need for safe transportation between hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and home. Not every patient recovering from a severe injury can simply get into a car and travel to their destination. In many cases, transportation requires a specially equipped vehicle, the ability to travel lying down, and continuous medical supervision.
In October, our teams provided medical transportation for 17 patients, covering a total of 17,227 kilometers.
These services remain free of charge for military personnel and veterans. We are especially grateful for the positive feedback we receive from those we have already helped. After all, every journey represents much more than kilometers traveled. It means helping someone safely reach the place where further treatment, rehabilitation, or their loved ones are waiting.
Another important area of our work is the PDMSh Recovery Center “Kolo Svitla.”
Throughout October, we actively prepared a new psychological recovery program specifically designed for women veterans. On November 12, we will launch “Returning to Yourself: Physical and Emotional Resources for Women Veterans.” This seven-day program is dedicated to self-care, rebuilding inner resources, improving emotional well-being, and finding support among women who share similar life experiences. We continue to develop this space because we firmly believe that supporting those who have defended Ukraine does not end when they return from the front lines.
That was our October. There is still much work ahead, along with new challenges and important tasks. Thank you to everyone who supports PDMSh, helps us grow, and enables us to stand alongside those who need our help. Our work continues!
