For PDMSh, Medical Workers’ Day has always been a day of reunion—a chance to come together, see one another, offer support, share conversations, and simply spend time side by side. This year, however, our gathering was especially difficult. In recent weeks, the enemy has brought us profound loss. Above all, we remembered those who are no longer with us—our fallen volunteers and comrades-in-arms.

It has been one month since the PDMSh.UA Medical Center launched its medical transportation service for wounded service members and veterans.

On the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day in Ukraine, we have summarized the results of 50 frontline rotations carried out since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion and, for the first time, published a comprehensive overview of our work. From now on, this statistics section will remain available on our website and will be updated regularly.

More than 57,000 lives have been saved since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, and more than 113,000 throughout PDMSh’s history. On Medical Workers’ Day, we would like to thank everyone who dedicates their lives to saving others. In this video, you’ll hear greetings from soldiers whose lives were given a second chance by our medics, as well as from military medical professionals and colleagues from the units we proudly serve alongside.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother-in-arms, Dmytro Zinenko, known among his fellow volunteers by the callsign “Dzvin,” on July 13, 2026.

The PDMSh.UA Medical Center provides specialized medical transportation with professional medical escort between hospitals, to rehabilitation centers, home, or any other destination for continued treatment or recovery.

The scholarship was established to support outstanding medical interns who have chosen surgery — the profession to which Oleksandr Poliakin dedicated his life. The first recipients of the scholarship were surgical interns Anastasiia Vikol and Vadym Prosvitliuk.

Swiss German-language daily newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung has published a feature about PDMSh volunteer Olha Suppan. The article highlights her frontline rotations, work with wounded patients, and the experience of Ukrainian volunteer medics during the war.

On April 21, the official opening of the Swiss foundation Stiftung Ukraine, established by our team, took place in Zurich.

The scholarship is intended to support the best medical interns who have chosen the field of surgery – a calling to which our friend “Polyak” dedicated his life and for which he gave his life on the front line.
