It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother-in-arms, Dmytro Zinenko, known among his fellow volunteers by the callsign “Dzvin,” on July 13, 2026.
Dmytro Yuriyovych joined the First Volunteer Mobile Hospital in September 2022. As a trauma surgeon, he served at frontline stabilization points, saving the lives of Ukrainian defenders. To his fellow volunteers, he was a reliable teammate who was always ready to help; to his patients, he was a doctor entrusted with what mattered most—their lives.
Since 2000, Dmytro Yuriyovych had worked as a surgeon at Kryvyi Rih City Hospital No. 16. In 2023, he became the Head of the Surgical Department at Kryvyi Rih City Hospital No. 1. He was known as an outstanding surgeon, a wise mentor, and a man of great kindness. Colleagues, students, patients, and fellow volunteers remember him for his openness, integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his profession.
They say some professions are a calling. For many, Dmytro Yuriyovych was exactly that kind of doctor. He devoted his life to saving others, giving his knowledge, strength, and experience every single day to those who needed them most.
We extend our deepest condolences to Dmytro Yuriyovych’s family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, our friend “Dzvin.” Thank you for everything. We will never forget you.
