Five years into the full-scale war. Thousands of deployments, tens of thousands of patients, and hundreds of volunteer medical professionals who stepped forward to help where it was needed most.
On the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day in Ukraine, we have summarized the results of 50 frontline rotations carried out since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion and, for the first time, published a comprehensive overview of our work. From now on, this statistics section will remain available on our website and will be updated regularly.
One figure stands out above all others: during 50 months of the full-scale war, PDMSh medics treated more patients than during the previous eight years of the war in eastern Ukraine before 2022. This reflects not only the scale of Russia’s aggression but also the extraordinary workload carried by Ukrainian medical professionals every single day.
The published statistics include the total number of patients, the distribution by type of medical care, age and gender, clinical case statistics, as well as information about military units, military ranks, and other indicators that illustrate the scale of our work since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
We want everyone to see the true scale of volunteer medical work and to understand what lies behind every number. Behind every statistic are lives saved, countless hours of dedicated work, thousands of evacuation missions, and people who choose, day after day, to protect the lives of others.
