Another month has come to an end, and we would like to share a little about what August looked like for PDMSh.
In August, our medical teams provided care to 115 patients on the frontline. Of these, 110 were wounded and 5 were patients with non-combat-related medical conditions. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the total number of patients we have provided care to has reached 58,103.
In the rear, we continue to focus on two important areas: medical transportation and the psychological recovery of veterans.
In August, 20 patients used our medical transportation service — twice as many as in July. These were service members and veterans who, due to their condition after being wounded, could not simply use regular transportation to travel from one hospital to another. They required special transportation conditions and medical support along the way.
PDMSh provides these transports free of charge, and it matters to us that another 20 people were able to safely reach the places where they could continue receiving the care they needed.
This August, we also continued developing what has become an increasingly important part of our work — veteran recovery. Our Recovery Center hosted a psychological recovery program: three days of activities, communication, support, and simply an opportunity to spend time among people who understand.
We also have some good news. Thanks to the support of our donor, we received a new armored medical evacuation vehicle. We are getting ready to show you what it looks like inside before it heads to the frontline.
