This week, the morning program “Wake Up!” on the “We Are Ukraine +” TV channel featured a report on the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (PDMSh) titled “How They Save Our Warriors’ Lives!”
Logistics specialist Mykola Pichuhin, anesthesiologist Maria, and PDMSh President Gennadiy Druzenko discussed the principles guiding the volunteer hospital’s operations. They shared insights on how they recruit civilian doctors who choose to leave their vacations behind to serve at the front lines, spending a month in places like Lyman or Sloviansk. The report also highlighted the resources and equipment used to save the lives of Ukraine’s defenders.
Since the war began nearly ten years ago, the PDMSh team has provided medical assistance to over 95,000 military and civilian Ukrainians. “We now see an average of a thousand patients each month, with several hundred being those we’ve rescued from the brink of death,” said Gennadiy Druzenko. “That’s why, even when things get tough and we feel like giving up, the grateful faces of the fighters we’ve saved inspire us and give us strength.”
